Uniform Policy

At Greenhill Islamic School, we emphasize the importance of adhering to the uniform policy to help students develop organizational and disciplinary skills. The uniform is designed to instill mindfulness of cleanliness and presentation. Students are required to come to school in neat and presentable attire. Any appearance that violates the uniform policy will be considered a breach of school regulations. Teachers and staff will routinely monitor student uniforms to ensure compliance.

Additional Requirements

  • All students must have a pair of indoor shoes for health and safety. Indoor shoes should preferably be running shoes without blinking lights and can be left at school outside the classroom overnight.
  • Students are discouraged from wearing expensive brand-name shoes. If they choose to do so, the responsibility for their safety and maintenance rests with the student.
  • During winter, students must bring appropriate warm clothing, including jackets, snow pants, hats, boots, and gloves. Students failing to dress appropriately for winter will not be permitted to participate in outdoor activities.
  • Students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 2 are encouraged to bring an extra set of clothes to school in case of accidents.
  • Kindergarten students must be potty-trained. To prevent accidents, pull-ups are recommended.

Dress Code Violation Policy

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring their child attends school in clean and tidy clothes. If a student violates the uniform policy, the following steps will be taken:
  • First Violation: The student will receive a verbal reminder to wear the appropriate uniform.
  • Second Violation: The parents will receive a phone call from the office administrator requesting them to bring the proper uniform to school for the student to change into.
  • Third Violation: The parent or guardian will be asked to pick up the child and attend a meeting with the principal to address the issue.

Non-Uniform Days or School Trips

On specific school trips or designated non-uniform days, students may not be required to wear their uniforms. Parents and guardians will receive written notification about such exceptions. During these occasions, students must adhere to a modest and masjid-appropriate dress code.
