Overview

At Greenhill Islamic School, our Grades 1 to 3 program focuses on building a strong foundation in language as a cornerstone for learning across all subjects. These formative years are essential for mastering the fundamentals of reading, writing, mathematics, and other academic disciplines. We emphasize understanding core concepts, acquiring essential knowledge, and developing key skills that set the stage for lifelong learning.

Our child-centered learning environment integrates both academic and non-academic subjects. Homeroom teachers provide personalized attention, while specialized educators enrich the curriculum with Islamic studies, Arabic, French, Quran, arts, and physical education.

Instructional methods include reading passages, manipulatives, multimedia tools, and interactive activities to engage students and ensure a comprehensive understanding of material.

Aligned with the Ontario curriculum but offering advanced content, the program encourages critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and 21st-century skills. Customized learning plans cater to each student’s needs, fostering academic growth and confidence. Regular assessments and reporting tools track progress to ensure students meet and exceed expectations.
